Strategic Collaboration Agreement Signed between NanjingTech and Hanyang University

The strategic collaboration agreement between Nanjing Tech University and Hanyang University was signed on October 26. Prof. Young Moo Lee, President of Hanyang University and NanjingTech President Huang Wei attended the bilateral meeting and the signing ceremony. Other delegates included Prof. Ki Jeong Lee, Vice president for International Affairs of Hanyang University, Prof. Jiang Juncheng, NanjingTech Vice President (International) and directors and deans of related offices and schools of NanjingTech.

President Huang Wei first extended his warm welcome to President Lee’s visit and introduced NanjingTech’s leaping development by sticking to the strategic goal of a comprehensive, research and global university and building the Synergetic Innovation Center for Advanced Materials and the Buffer Base for Overseas Talent. The overall research strength of NanjingTech is on the increase and our ranking has risen steadily both nationally and internationally. President Huang pointed out that Hanyang University has a history of nearly 80 years with complete facilities and strong faculty. Hanyang University is ranked 171 on QS 2016 and is one of the top universities in Asia. There is great potential of research collaboration in membrane technology, civil engineering, materials sciences and chemical engineering between two universities. President Lee’s visit would help to strengthen the partnership and promote the collaboration between two universities to a higher level.

President Lee expressed his gratitude for NanjingTech’s warm reception and spoke highly of NanjingTech’s achievement in recent years. He said that he has research collaborations with NanjingTech researchers such as Prof. Xu Nanping and Prof. Jin Wanqing for quite a long time because of the research excellence of NanjingTech in membrane technology. He believed that the two universities have extensive cooperation potential and his visit would promote the all-round cooperation between two universities.

Delegates from both universities held detailed discussions on research synergy, talent cultivation and faculty exchange and reached consensus on many issues.
